This company of three professional dry stone wallers grew from the development and delivery of courses in dry stone walling titled ‘Walls for the Future’ with College of the Peak. This widely acclaimed project has gone from strength to strength, and now offers a range of accredited, vocational and non vocational courses at the Derbyshire Eco Centre.

All instructors are professional dry stone wallers, certified by the Dry Stone Walling Association, and have between them, over 70 years teaching experience in the craft of dry stone walling.

Walls for the Future Ltd offer a range of courses and teaching styles that can be adapted to suit individual training needs. For people interested in trying dry stone walling for pleasure, to those interested in pursuing a career as a professional dry stone waller, or for someone looking for a real team building event. We can tailor our courses to meet your requirements.

As a team we feel that dry stone walls are not only part of our landscape but also our heritage. We believe that dry stone walls should be preserved, not just for their beauty, but also for the benefit of livestock, wildlife, flora and fauna, and our cultural past.

Protect our wildlife

The professional courses are accredited with the Dry Stone Walling Association (DSWA) and LANTRA and all the instructors hold the DSWA Instructors Certificate, as well as Master Craftsman certificates, and are professional members of the Dry Stone Walling Association.

Walls for the Future Ltd are part of the Peak National Park’s Environmental Quality Mark Award Scheme.
